Everton President, Bill Kinright said the idea of organizing Hazza Bin Zayed U-16 International Football Tournament is worthy of recognition for its important role in discovering talent and developing the football system for such age groups. He stressed that his first impression since he is visiting UAE for the first time is more than wonderful in all aspects.”

In his statement to the official website of Al Ain Club, he stated: “Many friends of mine have encouraged me over the last three years to visit UAE to enjoy the beautiful nature, attractive tourist facilities and wonderful heritage, but due to health issues I faced in the past made me not so motivated to visit UAE.”

“The good thing in my visit to the UAE that it coincides with Hazza bin Zayed U- 16 International Football Tournament, which has a good reputation compared to the great successes that it has achieved, specially many English football teams had participated in the tournament over the past years,” added he.

He went on to say: “Indeed, I am so glad to be here in UAE and now we are participating in this edition of the tournament and surely it will not be the last.”

Commenting on the two losses of his team to Al Jazira and Real Betis, he said: “We are very pleased with the great gains we have made through the team’s participation. Of course, technical and physical gains are the most important thing we are focusing on. It is certain that the technical staff and players have spent wonderful moments in Al Ain City that they will cherish all the time.”

“We are keen to boost the level of cooperation relationships with Al Ain Club. We are so impressed by everything we have seen in the facilities, in addition to the commitment of the Organizing Committee of the tournament by all the details during our presence here,” stressed he. He also commended the administrative arrangements including the excellent reception, the wonderful organization and the amazing stadium. On the loss of his team of their two matches, he said: “Although we lost in two occasions, but I asked the players not to feel bad about it and to hold their heads high because they are playing for “the giant blue”. They did well in the two matches and fought hard defending their team’s logo. The young team of Everton missed lots of chances during their match against Betis. Had they made use of it in the right manner they would have won the match and secure the three points. For this reason, we have to be proud of them and they have to be proud of themselves.”

The Chairman of the English club announced their desire to sign long-term bilateral cooperation agreements with Al Ain that over all technical and administrative aspects, exchanging experiences and expanding the levels of consultation with the aim to develop the football game. He stressed: “Football game develops day after day and we have to boost the loyalty of players of both teams to the logo of their teams.”

“I was so impressed by Hazza bin Zayed Stadium which I visited when I was on my way to Al Qattara Stadium. I was really impressed with the facilities of the club, including football fields and above all is its history which is full of achievements depicted in the special amazing and well-designed booklet and magazine issued on the occasion of holding this tournament,” said he. He underlined other features of his short visit to UAE by saying: “I have to thank everybody of the excellent and stunning reception. Also, I am so happy with the technical level of Al Ain football team who are the “Boss” of the UAE football. All of these facts motivate us to have long-term relationship with this big club. I am looking forward to signing cooperation agreements and MoUs at the earliest.”

He concluded: “”I was also attracted by the smile on all faces during this wonderful great visit and important participation in the tournament. I have to say it again that everything was perfect in every sense of the word.”
