Issam Abdullah, Al Ain Team Administrative Manager, congratulated the UAE wise leadership, the fans of the UAE sports, members of the Ainawi Honorary Council, Board of Directors of Al Ain Football Company, the players and the loyal and great fans of Al Ain for qualifying to the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Issam Abdullah stated: “Before kicking off the tournament, there was a prevailing belief that Al Ain will play in this competition for the sake of honorary participation by the merit of being the champions of the UAE League “the host country.” But as usual the Boss will never be a guest of honor in any tournament, particularly if it is a new challenge given the team is looking far than Asia and the Gulf region in terms of winning titles and eyes are set now on the global title.” He underlined that the ambitions are higher than ever as the team qualified to the final match by defeating the New Zealand’s Team Wellington in the opening match, brushing aside the CAF Champions Esperance de Tunisia and overcoming the Liberatores champions Argentina’s River Plate. “We in Al Ain believe that in football you may lose or win and in the last match against the River Plate, there were 11 players against 11 and the warriors of Al Ain showed a high caliber performance I have never seen before in all their matches. I believe players had one target in that match that we did not know about, but they demonstrated that on the pitch.”

He added: “No need to worry that Al Ain is down by one or two goals against the strongest teams and whatever his circumstances and absences in the squad. All the players are at the same highest level of skills and quality as well as the desire, enthusiasm and determination to present the best. The joy of our nation is our source of our pride and honor.”

He hailed the role played by the medical team for their invaluable efforts in the recovery of players. “Within 18 days we played 5 games, including two games that lasted 120 minutes, but the desire of the players and the great work done by the coaching team helped a lot in dominating the field.”
