In a special press conference, Al Ain Club has officially introduced the newly arrived midfielder, South Korea’s player Park Young-Woo. The conference was held at the away camp in Spain and attended by Obaid Hammad, a member of the Steering Committee of Al Ain Football Club Company and Head of Al Ain Teams in the away camp, and the Dutch head coach, Alfred Schreuder.

The South Korean player, Park Young-Woo, formerly from Ulsan Hyundai and signed for Al Ain Club for two seasons, will wear jersey # 5.

In his welcoming speech to the Spanish media in Arabic and English languages at the press conference, Mohammed Obaid Hammad expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, First Vice President of the Club and the Honorary Council of Al Ainawi, Chairman of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, for his generous support that Al Ain has been enjoying for years.

“H.H. Sheikh Hazza support is meant to maintain the team’s permanent presence and position among the biggest clubs internationally and to fulfil the aspirations of the loyal Al Ain Tram’s fans,” he said.

Hammad added: I would also like to express my sincerest gratitude and appreciation to H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Steering Committee of Al Ain Football Club Company, for his continuous support and attention to all details. He is always in direct contact with the team members in Spain to ensure everything is on the right track and to furnish all grounds for success of the team’s summer away training camp in Spain.”

Hammad pointed out that H.E. Shaikh Sultan is always laser focusing on the primary goal of the training camp to ensure the players are in form and ready for the new season to meet the high expectations of members and lovers of the Al Ain Club.

In the press conference, Hammad welcomed Park Young-Woo putting an accent on the fact that he is the right player to boost the team’s strengths and that his quality skills are in line with the requirements set by the coaching teams led by the coach of Al Ain, Alfred Schreuder.

He hailed South Korea’s player, saying: “We trust the player’s quality capabilities and skills based on his vast and rich experience as a centre midfielder and centre back. We all wish him the best of luck and that he will be an added value to the team.”

In his short speech, Hammad expressed his appreciation to Ulsan Hyundai FC’s management for the explicit professionalism they exhibited during the negotiation phase.

He also thanked all the media representatives for their keenness to attend the press conference to cover such an outstanding media event. He said: “It is not unusual for the Spanish media to show their interest in covering the news of the Boss squad every time they are in Spain.”

Responding to a question on whether the Club’s management still intends to attract more Emirati and resident players following the closing of the foreigners’ dossier, Hammad said: “It is not a secret to disclose that we are still working on that. Yes, we are done with the foreign players’ deals, but the transfer market window is open, and Al Ain Club is always looking forward to boosting the team’s strengths by signing more Emirati and resident players to the team’s line-up.”

He went on to say: “The current evaluation stage is concerned with reports of the coach’s technical requirements with regard to the resident players, especially since Al Ain Team’s line-up includes several distinguished players in the Reserve Team. They are certainly under the coach’s radar. We also in the process of examining the dossier of players not registered in the team’s list. The list of names will be submitted to the concerned committee of Al Ain Football Club Company, in order to determine the final team list.

He commented that the Club’s management trust that the current players will definitely achieve the pre-set goals for the new season and put a smile on the faces of the loyal fans of Al Ain Club.

He commented on a question about the team’s program in away training camp: “We have morning and evening training sessions, in addition to recovery and programs. The team will play three friendly matches as we played one two days ago. The coaching teams have already agreed with the other teams’ coaches on the time of matches to meet the pre-set goals of holding such friendlies. It is scheduled to play tomorrow morning with the Spanish team Deportivo Murcia, and the day after tomorrow the team’s members will leave to the new camp location to start the second phase.”

The head coach of Al Ain First Football Team, Alfred Schreuder, expressed his pleasure to have South Korea’s Park Young-Woo on board.

Schreuder stressed that he trusts that the player’s experience in the Asian leagues will add more to the team’s capabilities and will play a key role in fulfilling the pre-set objectives of the team for the new season.
