Zoran Mamic expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation for the Board of Directors of Al Ain Club Football Company for their highly valued trust and confidence and stated: “I am so happy to have a new contract and to stay with my team. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks and appreciation again to Al Ain Club for their confidence in my services and I promise all Ainawis to work hard and do our best in the coming season, taking in consideration that we will be facing several challenges but we are determined to fulfill all the desired goals.”

“In the world of football, to lose a match is part of our job exactly like winning or drawing,” said he commenting on a question on the message he addressed to his players following the last match in the past season. He added: “Absolutely, it is not good to lose, but we have accomplished exceptional results and historic double achievements in the past season that should not go unnoticed whatever the reasons. We have to be proud of all what we have achieved because this will give us the motivation to achieve the best results in our future challenges.” Zoran underlined: “We are so keen to take advantage of lessons learned of the recent loss and this requires us to double our efforts to become stronger and better in the next season and to be ready to achieve our goals.”

On his top goals and significant priorities for the coming stage, he said: “It is certain that football does not recognize the language of expectations because in short it rewards the best team in the pitch. However, our goal in the new season is to be better than last season and to further improve our capabilities in the manner that enables us to perform well in all our challenges. Our main goal is to have an exceptional season to be concluded with clinching trophies which I am sure would make the loyal Ainawi Nation happy.”

He concluded his statement by addressing a message to the fans by saying: “I would like to express my esteemed appreciation and thanks to the loyal Ainawi fans for their great support and advocate of the team players during the past great exceptional season.” He went on to say: “It is great that the team is blessed by the massive support and back up of all the fans in all matches inside and outside the pitch.” He stressed: “I am full confident that we will fulfill the desired ambitions and I do promise all the fans that the team members who we are in dire need for their support and advocate will work harder and stronger to make them happy.”

Croatia’s Zoran Mamic is one of the best football coaches assigned to lead Al Ain’s First Football Team. He has been successful to win the double and historical titles of 2017-2018 season, the Arabian Gulf League Shield and the President’s Cup, for the first time in the history of Al Ain Club. His stunning achievements led the Board of Directors of Al Ain Club Football Company to extend his contract for a new additional season (2018-2019). Noteworthy, Zoran Mamic led the “Boss” in 62 games in various local and continental football competitions where the team won 36 matches, lost 12 and drew 14 times.

Croatia’s Zoran Mamic was born on September 30, 1971 in Zagreb. He is known for his strong personality, taking bold decisions, and his high potential to outperform his counterparts of coaches in terms of his technical vision.

Mamic began his career as a center midfielder in Dynamo Zagreb B Team prior joining the first team in 1989 and then leaving the team in 1996.

Mamic joined a number of European clubs, notably the German team, Bayer Leverkusen, where he stayed for two seasons between 1998 and 2000. He ended his career as a player in Dynamo Zagreb in 2007. In 1996, Mamic earned the international badge as a player in the Croatian national team.

Mamic started his training career with his Croatian Club, Dynamo Zagreb, in 2013. He was so known for being so keen to keep pace with signs of development. He led his team in 88 games, where he won 65 matches, drew 9 and lost 14.

In 2016, he took charge of Al Nasr FC of Saudi Arabia that was his first experience in the Gulf region. Mamic led the Saudi team to the Crown Prince Cup final. Additionally, he led Al Nasr FC in 16 matches in Jamil Professional League where he won 10 matches, drew 2 and lost 4.

The official website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) praised the number of matches Mamic had played, the new Coach of Al Ain FC, with Dynamo Zagreb. Mamic was able to play 45 official games in all tournaments without a single loss with Zagreb in the 2014-15 Season. The UEFA compared Mamic’s number of matches with Zagreb FC and the Real Madrid team’s recent record of 40 official matches without loss.

Zoran’s Achievements: During his career as a Head Coach of Croatia’s Dynamo Zagreb FC, Zoran Mamic was crowned with the title of the League Championship for three consecutive seasons in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He was also crowned with the Croatia’s Cup for two consecutive seasons 2015 and 2016.

Mamic officially assumed his responsibilities with Al Ain FC on February 2, 2017, just 24 hours before Al Ain’s match against Al Nasr, which was scheduled at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the 17th Round of the Arabian Gulf League and Al Ain won that match by 3-0.
