He commended the opponent’s performance: “In contrast, Al Dhafra performed well and it was evident the extent of their improvement since the new coach assumed his responsibilities, the team players exhibited a strong desire to do their best in the pitch for the sake of reserving a position in the coach’s starting lineup.”

Zoran expressed his pleasure by winning Al Dhafra and qualifying for the quarter finals stating that “This is because the cup matches are always linked to the surprises throughout history.”

When asked about his decision taken against those players adopted their individual own style of playing, he said: “It is certainly not a good to change the style of playing not only for the payers but also for the coach. However, we have to be well aware that Ahmad Khalil, Bandar and Shiotani have not played official matches for a ling time.” He added: “Bandar and Shiotani specifically exerted great efforts during the team’s recent match against Al Wasl.” He pointed out: “Today’s match was good in general and we came out with important lessons that we will certainly benefit from in our next matches.”

Commenting on a question on his own assessment of Ahmad Khalil’s performance during the 72 minutes he played with the team, Zoran said: “Ahmed Khalil is an important player in the team and the evidence is his contribution to winning this evening match. He assisted in creating the winning goal and we should not forget that he did not play for a long time. Indeed, this is very difficult for a football player who always needs to participate in official matches. I decided to offer him the chance to play today to show his known genuine and I am sure that he will adapt with the team and fits quickly as he will have an important role in the squad during the next challenges.”
