Al Ain’s qualification to the Round of 16 came by virtue of the logic of supreme care, “Al Zaeem” character and the players’ bravery

Mohammed Obaid Hammad, member of the Steering Committee of the Affairs of Al Ain Football Club Company and the Supervisor of Al Ain First Team and the Reserve Team, expressed his gratitude for the generous support and sponsorship provided by the club’s leadership to the team. The club remained steadfast on the clear path and successful strategic plans laid out by His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, First Deputy Chairman of the Club, First Deputy Chairman of the Honorary Council, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club. This, in turn, led the team to embrace sporting glories and achieve successes throughout its illustrious football history.

“Reality confirms that the club’s excellence throughout this season is due to the great care and diligent follow-up of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Affairs of Al Ain Football Club Company. This was reflected practically in the team’s consecutive Asian victories and impressive performance in the AFC championship”, he continues.

Hammad again welcomed Hernan Crespo, who will lead the team technically, stating, “The Argentine coach possesses a leadership personality, a wonderful coaching mindset, and excels in fostering a sense of one-family and one-team spirit. The coach has been closely following the team’s performance throughout the period preceding his appointment, and the Football Company’s Board of Directors recognized his qualifications as the right man of the moment, considering his professional football career as a world-class player and coach and his experience in the region.”

Regarding the reasons that enabled the team to achieve its short-term target of qualifying for the Round of 16 in the AFC Champions League, Hammad said, “Undoubtedly, the team’s qualification to the AFC Champions League Round of 16 was achieved first by the grace of Almighty Allah, the generous support and care of the club’s leadership. The truly positive point is that the current generation set a new record in the club’s history, which gives them the important motivation to continue their successes and achieve the desired targets and glory.”

He continued: “We must commend the players’ bravery and sense of responsibility in defending the club’s badge, showing the spirit of victory, seriousness, commitment, and doubling efforts to achieve the desired gains. We must not overlook the role played by the Ainawi fans in supporting the team and boosting the players’ morale and all members of the club. We ask Almighty Allah for success and guidance in our journey.”

Regarding the team’s program during the current break, Hammad said, “As I mentioned, the Argentine coach Hernan Crespo was following the team’s performance and is fully aware of Al Ain players’ capabilities. Therefore, He set up his training programs during the current break according to the requirements of this stage. A friendly match against Al-Ittihad, a team from the third division, is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday evening.”
