Christian Gross, the Swiss Coach of Al Ahli Saudi FC, asserted that his team had the best performance in the season against Al Ain in the AFC Champions League Group C fixture at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

We got ahead of Al Ain two times, but we could not save out net, Gross said, stressing that his team needed more experience to do such.
We were not lucky in two chances when Omar Al Somah crashed a goalpost with a powerful free-kick and when Al Somah was obstructed in the penalty box without a referee whistle, the Swiss coach said.
We should not also forget that the UAE champs have a distinguished goalkeeper who managed to save many shots in the game, Gross said.
We should not forget that Al Ain were the runners-up of the last Asian tournament and that a number of our key player were absent, he said, commenting on a question about his inability to make use of Al Ain defensive style of play.
On the replacement of Greek winger Giannis Fetfatzidis, Gross said that happened because the player did not join the latest three training sessions after an injury he sustained in Al Wahda game, however, the player had a great performance and scored a great goal.
