Gross: we are facing team with strong personality
Christian Gross, the Swiss Coach of Al Ahli Saudi FC, said that his team is planned to play a very important and strong game, expecting that it will be difficult.
Asserting that Al Ain was unlucky in Asia Champions League 2016, Gross said “Personally, I believe in the team’s ability to qualify in the group stage, however, we are required to show the best we have. We have an ambitious team and we are facing a team with a strong personality, including the goalkeeper Khalid Eisa, the defender Ismail Ahmed, and for sure Omar Abdulrahman”.
“I watched the last match of Al Ain against Al Jazirah. Al Ain showed a powerful performance. That is why we have to make a powerful game, have an excellent defense, have close lines, and not waste any chances. I repeat we will have a difficult confrontation.” He continued.
Asked regarding the abilities of Al Ain to infiltrate the lines and how to reduce the offensive severity, he replied, “We depend on the teamwork in all lines especially the defense line. We have to make a good defense as a team.”
The Swiss Coach pointed out that Al Ain finally got Nasser Al Shamarani who is very good at infiltrating the lines, expecting that the Saudi player will start the game as he was waiting for any chance to play against Al Ahli.
“We should not also forget that they have Caio and Asprilla who can be dangerous from wings and center,” Gross concluded.
