We Have Full Confidence in the Head Coach and the Boss Players and Still Have Firm Hands on Top Spot

What Happened in Al Orooba Match Happens Every Five Years Only

Competition to Win the League Title Still Valid Between the Top Team and Team on Ninth Spot and Proved by Figures

We Will Temporarily Close the Chapter of the League and Focus on our Match Against Al Jazira

Following the final whistle of matchweek 18 of the ADNOC Pro League between Al Ain and Al Orooba, Abdullah Ali, Al Ain Team Supervisor, in press interviews, stressed that Al Ain is still the top team despite losing two critical points.

He added: “We admit that the players committed mistakes in the first half. However, we were not lucky enough in this match as the opponent played with compact defense and closed the spaces while relying heavily on the counter-attacks. Indeed, they were lucky to score their sole goal and not concede any goal despite the attacks launched by the squad. Such a case happened every five seasons.”

The Team Supervisor hailed the role played by the Ainawi Nation in supporting the team and boosting their self-confidence regardless of the conditions we were facing.

He went on to say: “The realities of the league well known to all the team members that Al Ain’s destiny is in their hands and waits for no gifts from other opponents. This is why we must return to victories track muscularly.”

He stressed that the team is focusing only on the second leg match of the Pro League Cup scheduled to be held at home against Al Jazira.

Commenting on the draw result of Al Ain vs. Al Orooba in the first and second rounds of the league, he said: “The first leg match was different from the second leg. I stated after the first leg match that it was a “cold shower” as we took the lead by three goals. Yesterday, the situation was completely different. The opponent took the lead. Although we took the corrective measures, we were not lucky enough to score.”

Abdullah Ali stressed that “we do respect all opponents regardless of their names or their place at the standing table. Al Ain Team’s preparations are always different depending on the clash match we have.”

Responding to a question on the team’s chances to snatch the 14th title of the league, he stated: “I believe that talking about winning the league title is still early. We have eight matches with 24 points until we reach the final line.”

He indicated that numbers and statistics show that competition is still valid between the top team and the team on the ninth spot. “Currently, we are only four points away from the team on the second spot.”

He concluded his statement confirming that “the team lost 11 points by the end of matchweek 18. However, players have a firm will to go on the victories track, and I wish all of them all the best.”
