His Excellency Mohamed Obeid “Hamad”, Al Ain FC Company’s Board member, the supervisor of first and the second teams, pointed out that “We wish our team could play today’s game in better conditions than those present in all local and continental competitions, but football is always linked to givens and circumstances are sometimes helpless, despite of the obvious preference of the team concerning its games in League and Cup of the Head of State. Yet it did not achieve the results that match its performance, we lost many points.
He continued “Perhaps, locally, the game against Al Wasl was the most difficult for the team, as it might get the team miss the opportunity to take part in the Champions League in the next season. Accordingly, the game against Zob Ahan Esfahan is of great importance, as it is deemed a season-rescuing-game.
Al Ain team supervisor described the third group to be the most difficult in group stage in AFC Champions League, assuring that “even the Ozbaki team that comes last in the ranking, with no points is deemed much better than potential qualified teams in other groups”.
He added “the competition is fervent in the third group, to occupy one of the two qualifying standings to the eighth-final, between Al Ain, Al Ahly and Zob Ahan Esfahan. Al Ain’s situation is clear, the team is required to achieve positive result against the Iranian team, otherwise it will end its season with unsatisfactory results for us, and upshots deemed less than what we are accustomed to, especially during the five consecutive seasons, as Al Ain stands still till the very last moments.
He stated, “Al Ain’s mission in today’s game will not be easy, as it is with a robust team benefits from being at home and with its audience. It has the opportunity to get qualified, but our we still trust the team players and technical staff to achieve an impressive result.”
Responding to how the impressive results of the team in away games of the Asian League can affect the team’s morale, he said “In fact, the present generation has achieved honorable results in Champions League, but all games it played in this competition are passé. We see that our rival is robust and well-organized, it looks forward to getting his name clear, after being out of the eighth-final, beaten by Al Ain last year, moreover, it has a lucky break to get qualified, since it is ranked second in the standings, so the game offers us no choice but win.”
