Mohammed Obaid Hammad Al Dhaheri, a board member of the Al Ain Football Club Company, has expressed astonishment for the Disciplinary Committee’s decision to punish Khalid Eisa, the shot stopper of Al Ain and the UAE national team.

He said the Garden City Club totally rejects any kind of offense or violation, stressing that the club’s policies respect others and enforces all affiliates to respect the team policies, strategic plans and institutional values inside and outside the pitch.

However, we watched the scene may times and I don’t think that Khalid Eisa did something wrong that violates the sportsmanship principles, Al Dhaheri said, stressing that pointing at the club’s logo or raising the team jersey is merely a kind of special cheerfulness.

He stressed that such should not be considered at any point as a kind of provocation, as the members of the concerned committee at the UAE Football Association have already done.

The world’s most prominent football stars such as Messi, Ronaldo and other great players, who are considered as a real model of professionalism, do the same to express their happiness in the best and strongest tournaments, Al Dhaheri noted.

Such has never led to any disciplinary action against any of them, the official of Al Ain added, stressing that showing loyalty to your team should never, at any point, be met with such action.

I don’t also think that Shabab Al-Ahli Player Makhete Diop should not have been punished for pointing at his team’s logo to celebrate his team’s goal, Al Dhaheri said.

He accused the committee of being biased, wondering why Diop was not punished if the committee considers such celebration is against the regulations.

There are some illogical disciplinary actions such as the punishment imposed on players who are late for one or two minutes for performing prayers, he said, noting that the committee should have taken such a thing into consideration.
