HE Mohammed Obaid “Hammad”, Board member of Al Ain FC Company, general supervisor of first team, stated that reaching the finals of the AFC Champions League in its last edition and winning the runner-up place was a motivation for all players. “However, not winning the AFC Champions League was very painful and distressful for everyone, which is why Al Ain should compete hard in the new edition of this Asian championship in order to make up for this loss and win the Champions League.” He said.

“We are aware that winning the toughest Asian championship once again is no piece of cake and requires being highly equipped and prepared. Thus, we must overcome all challenges and focus on our strengths which accompanied us throughout the past stage.” He added.

He also said that reaching the finals was a strong motivation for the current generation because it made them more experienced at dealing with continental challenges. “The team proved it was capable of undergoing the most difficult circumstances on several occasions, which was a reflection of the bright image of Emirati football during the Asian championship.”

“I believe that the start of the Asian championship during the football season is one of the major challenges we’re facing… especially during the second round of the league, unlike many Asian clubs. However, we are keen on applying the best practices.” He added.
