I Always Prefer High-Profile Matches.. Sergiy Rebrov: Happy for the Fans’ Exhilaration and Players’ Reaction in Al Jazira Match
“I always prefer the high-profile matches like tonight’s match,” Ukraine head coach of the Al Ain Team opened the post-match press conference of matchweek 17 of ADNOC Pro League against Al Jazira held at HBZS on Saturday, 11th February 2023.
He added: “We created many chances to score, but we conceded two goals in the early minutes of the match. This made the first half of the match difficult, although we succeeded in scoring one goal before going to the break.”
Rebrov expressed his pleasure for the players’ reaction in the second half and scored two goals. He also stated that he was delighted with the fans’ happiness and the players’ performance in the match.
Responding to a question on whether his substitutions made the difference in the second half, he said: “I cannot say that the substitutions made the difference in the second half, but I should thank the players for their dedicated efforts and their genuine reaction.”
He also expressed his pleasure to see Yahiya Nader, who was absent for months and a half to rejoin the squad, and the same applies to Matias Palacios.
He signed off by saying: “We committed many mistakes in this match, but this improved the team’s performance in the second half.”
