I Cheered the “Boss” in the Derby Match from Stands.. Berg: Those Campaign for “Nonsense” Rumors Does Know Who I Am!!
Sweden’s Marcus Berg, Al Ain First Football Team Striker, expressed his pleasure for sealing the full mark of the team’s match against Al Wahda stating that: “I have booked my seat in the stands of Al Nahyan Stadium and cheered my team in that heated match. I did have the full confidence in the team’s potentials to defeat the home team on their field and among their fans.”
“Absolutely, I was not happy to miss the chance to be part of that important confrontation to defend the logo of the “Boss” along with my fellow players because playing in big challenges is all players’ top ambition,” Berg said. “However, we, in Al Ain FC, are used to face the hard conditions and coming over them by determination and exhibiting aggressivity all times to achieve our aspirations and making our loyal Ainawi fans happy.”
Commenting on gossips prompted by those who believe that he deliberately committed a foul to receive a red card and avoid playing against Al Wahda, and so be ready to play with his national team, he stated: “I was really surprised by such a statement and I do not know the motives for those who promote such strange ideas which contradict with the concepts of fair play and above all questioning the integrity of football players is completely rejected.” He went on to say: “Quite the reverse, not participating in matches that precede “international” confrontations has a negative impact on the players of national teams. Indeed, their participation puts them in the required state of technical and physical balance. As for injuries, any football player can suffer from an injury during the warm up process without any friction.”

He also stated: “It is a pity to promote such rumors and I believe that the one who behind it intended to cause harm to me personally and may have been testing his skills in causing harm to my team!!”
Berg concluded by saying: “My full concentration is directed to play all my team’s matches simply because I am a professional player who is fully loyal to the “Boss” and willing to sacrifice for the sake of the team’s logo. When the FIFA World Cup time comes, I will definitely start thinking about my national team’s match against Italy in the 2018 World Cup Russia Qualifier.”
