Ismail Ahmed: Al Ain capable of winning the AFC title
Al Ain remarkable defender, Ismail Ahmed, dedicated the recent win against El Jaish Qatar, which granted the club a ticket to the AFC finals, to the hardcore fans, saying it is a significant step to achieve the long-awaited dream and restore the Asian title.
In a statement he made after the match, Ismail said that Al Ain is practically capable of winning the AFC title since it has all the requirements to do so, praising the great efforts exerted by all players during the encounter against the Qatari team.
“The lead scored by Omar Abdurrahman demonstrated that Al Ain has both the determination and will to win, which was even doubled after the Qataris scored their second goal”, he commented.
On the message they received from His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan after winning Lokomotiv Tashkent and qualifying for the semi-final, the international defender said that His Highness’ messages and tweets always motivated the players and inspired them to carry on the competition and reclaim the title.
He also voiced thanks and appreciation for the hardcore fans who flocked to Doha in order to back up the team which positively boosted the players’ performance.
“Al Ain fans have always showed such loyalty and passion so much so that they contribute to the victories achieved earlier. Therefore, we will fight to make them proud and happy again when we win the Asian title”, he concluded.
