Laba “Super Hattrick”.. The Boss Turned the Table and Netted Al Fujairah Seven Times
Al Ain back home with a stunning victory over Al Fujairah by 7-1 in matchweek 5 of the Arabian Gulf League. The first half ended by a 1-1 draw.
Al Ain seven goals were scored by Laba Kodjoe “Super Hattrick” at “41-57-68-86”, Mohannad Al Enezi “53”, Caio Canedo “66”, Jamal Marouf “80”. Al Fujairah’s sole goal was scored by Jhonnattann Benites.
The win takes Al Ain to the second spot with 12 points. Meanwhile, Fujairah dropped to ninth with 6 points.
Both teams played cautiously during the early minutes of the match, and all maneuvers were limited to the center of the field. Then, the performance started to escalate significantly the time passed by.
Jhonnattann Benites gave the Fujairah squad the upper hand when he broke the deadlock in the 39th minute, through who received Fernando Gabriel’s through pass and drilled into the back of the net.
The Boss responded just three minutes after conceding, when Al Ahbabi’s crossed freekick was headed brilliantly by Laba to make it 1-1 going into the halftime break.
With the start of the second half, the Boss squad showed a clear desire to settle things early by taking the lead by imposing absolute control over the game and organized aggressive attempts on the opponent’s goal from the depth and flanks.
In the 53rd minute, Al Ahbabi registered his second assist of the night. The number 11 sent an in-swinging cross from a corner kick that was converted calmly by Mohannad El Enezi to gift the visitors the lead for the first time.
Al Ain kept pushing forward and in the 57th minute, Al Ahbabi was once again at heart of the attack when he controlled the ball up the right flank and dribbled skillfully past Fujairah’s defender before sending a low cross towards Laba, who slotted past Abdullah Al Tamimi with a deft touch.
Al Ain continued to hammer the opposition, as Caio Canedo scored the fourth for his side in the 66th minute. The Brazilian converted another Al Ahbabi corner into the back of the net.
Just three minutes later, Al Ahbabi and Laba combined once again. The forward finished the ball from a close range to complete his hat-trick and make it 5-1.
Around the 80-minute mark, superb Jamal Marouf received the ball near the edge of the box and cut inside before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
Laba ended crowned his impressive performance in style, as he changed Marouf’s miscued shot direction with a clever backheel flick that left Al Tamimi helpless.
