Al Ain Head Coach Zoran Mamic has congratulated Al Jazeera for the “deserved victory” over his team.

He said “at the start of the game, we had a very good performance and were the best until the 25th minute.” We had many chances to score, but we did not exploit them as required before suddenly retreating and losing the control over the ball due to the long balls that were easily given to the rivals, he added.

Commenting on the absences of the rivals and why did not his team make use of such, the Croatian said that his teams also misses the services of a number of players, stressing that the absences are not an excuse for the loss.

I think that Al Jazeera is a good team that has distinguished players and the quality of the players is not exclusive for the foreigner or national players as it’s a group game and the evaluation shall be for the performance of the whole team, Mamic said.

He added that Al Jazeera was better after 30 minutes, pointing out that the rivals used the spaces as required and won the game.

Al Jazeera was better than Al Ain in terms of the second touches in the midfield and the free kicks, the coach said.

On the absence of Omar Abdulrahman, Mamic said “Having “Amoory” in pitch makes us perform differently, but it is no excuse for the loss.”

“As I told you, we lost the match because we did not complete the game in the same way it’s started,” he added.

Evaluating Player Amer Abdulrahman who was broadly criticized in the last season and on the today’s game, the coach said that Amer is a very god player but he was injured for more than seven months.

The player performed very well in the first two games of the season, however, he did not do the same as he is very tired, Mamic concluded, stressing that Amer was not the reason behind loss and that the performance of the whole team was not as required.
