Headed by Mohammed Obaid Hammad, Member of the Management Committee of Al Ain Football Club Company Affairs, and General Supervisor of the First and Reserve Team Sector, the delegation of the Boss “Al Zaeem” left today for the Saudi capital, Riyadh, for the critical confrontation of the team in the second leg of the 2023-24 AFC Champions League quarter-finals, after the representative of the UAE managed to end the first-leg match at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium with one goal, scored by the “international” Moroccan player Soufiane Rahimi.

The Boss “Al Zaeem” looks forward to continue the strong results Al Ain achieved in the AFC Champions League, and to benefit from the advantage achieved by winning the first leg.

Pride and honor

Mohammed Obaid Hammad, Member of the Management Committee of Al Ain Football Club Company Affairs, and General Supervisor of the First and Reserve Team Sector, expressed their great pride and honor as members of Al Ain, including management, technical and administrative staff, players and fans, with the high patronage and generous support of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, First Vice President of Al Ain Club, First Vice Chairman of Al Ain Honorary Council, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, and the follow up of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Chairman of the Steering Committee for Al Ain Football Club Company Affairs, which continued to strengthen the team’s morale and contribute to achieving its strong results.

Hammad emphasized that Al Ain goes through every match to win, and we are well aware that football is associated with all possible results, but the target of the Boss “Al Zaeem” remains clear to everyone in the next match, which is to qualify for the semi-finals as we are well aware that the mission will not be easy, especially since we are facing a powerful opponent and amidst an “exhausting” schedule. As I mentioned, our target is to win, with respect to the ambitions of the “brotherly” Saudi Al Nassr, and regardless of the result of the first-leg match, which we should consider a scoreless draw.

Regarding Al Ain’s recent victory over Al Nassr, which increased the number of the Emirati clubs’ seats in the AFC Champions League, he said:  “One of Al Ain’s major targets in the continental championship is honorable representation on behalf of the UAE in this tournament, and as I mentioned previously, Al Ain’s foreign participation is no less important than the participation of our UAE national team in the official competitions. Moreover, improving our league’s classification, and increasing the Emirati clubs’ seats in the AFC Champions League are among Al Ain’s responsibilities and targets that were achieved in the current tournament.”
