“My team will have a new challenge against a good team as we are commencing round2 of groups stage of the AFC Champions League,” Zoran Mamic inaugurated the pre-match press conference held on Monday 19th February. He stressed: “We have to move ahead by achieving great positive results following the goalless draw against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal and that the team is required to do their best compared to the quality players and their sharp potentials to be at the top spot of Group D.”

Commenting on a question on his assessment of the opponent team following the end of round 1 of Group D, he said: “I have no doubt that our Tuesday’s match will not be an easy one. However, we have a clear-cut goal with due respect to the opponent’s aspiration, that is to win the match and secure its three points.” He also stated: “It is known that the opposing team has a large number of foreign players in their squad and that the absence of a player would not have a negative impact on their performance as his replacement is a good player.”

“Unquestionably, Al Ain squad is all set to go and we each match is a new challenge for the team and we do not think about the past whether the result is positive or negative as we leave it behind our back,” said he in response to a question on the negative impact of the team’s recent loss in the match against Al Wahda. he added: “Our focus now is fully directed to the AFC Champions League and our goal is to perform well and honorably and to snatch a positive great result.”

“My heart is with Al Ain and I am planning to be part of this big team in the coming days,” Zoran replied to a question on media reports unveiled Al Ain Club’s Management negotiations with him to renew his contract and an offer submitted by Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr. He confirmed: “All my sights are set at clinching titles with the “Boss”, particularly that Al Ain is at the top spot of the Arabian Gulf League, besides commencing ACL 2018 by a positive result, besides the team is competing to win the title of the President’s Cup.” He signed off: “All my focus is directed to achieve all my goals with Al Ain and not to forget I still have a valid contract with Al Ain.”
