“Our mission was not that easy, and as usual, Al Ain is always facing abnormal circumstances at Ajman field,” Pedro Emmanuel opened the post-match press conference of matchweek 22 of AGL.

He added: “We have already known that the home team would fight to win, but we played this match with high desire to win and back to Al Ain City with three points in hand.”

Pedro expressed his sympathy with Brazil’s Jonatas De Santos for being injured after only two minutes of the kickoff whistle. He commented on that incident: “We are accustomed to such situations this season as we missed several players and hope that Jonatas would recover soon.”

As for the match, the head coach said: “In the first half, the squad exerted great efforts and took the lead by scoring our first goal. We knew that Ajman would try their best to come back to the match. This forced us to control the ball and create real chances to score mainly in the second half, while Ajman got only two chances.”

Pedro Emmanuel expressed his pleasure with the squad’s performance and to see young players less than 22 years old in the team’s starting lineup.

He went on to say: “Rarely do we see football matches without mistakes, and we committed many mistakes. However, there are several gains we achieved out of this match, including the first goal was scored by Mohammed Abbas, 18 years old, and definitely, the three points would advance our position on the standing table.”
