Pedro Emmanuel: Our Goals in the Second Half of the League are Crystal-Clear.. Not A Fan of Bringing Many Players and Support the Idea of Signing Players Who Could Make the Difference
“It is a fact we lost several points during the team’s journey in the first half of the Arabian Gulf League. We got no choice except to perform well starting from our confrontation against Khorfakkan. Indeed, the home team is progressing well, and they won Al Jazira at home,” Pedro Emmanuel stated in the pre-match press conference dedicated to matchweek 14 against Khorfakkan.
Pedro added ahead of the match scheduled to be held at Khorfakkan Club Stadium on Saturday 30th January 2021, “Our goals are crystal clear, and we aim to snatch the match’s three points with all due respect to the home team. This could be achieved through hard work, perform well, high concentration, scoring goals, and maintaining our sheet clean. This is simply our goal in the second half of the league.”
The Portuguese head coach pointed out that he looks forward to improving the team’s performance based on the signing of Japan’s Shōya Nakajima. “I believe he enjoys the qualities we are in need for, and he would be able to make the difference and help the team.”
He also added that the team regained the services of Mohammed Fayez and Mohannad El Enezi. He hailed their qualities of being critical pillars of the squad in the past and expressed his wishes to continue to play their role at present.
“They are influential players and helped the team to win many matches. We missed them as they joined the national service. We would allow them to play the coming matches for their experience and how their teammates received them. This is an important factor for me as a head coach, and I am sure this would further improve the team’s performance,” he stated.
As for signing more players to the Boss squad, Pedro stressed that he is not a fan of having many players on board, but he needs quality players. He stated: “During the past four months, we faced several major challenges due to the influential absences every week. I believe we do not need many players, but quality ones in certain positions.”
He went on to say that if you ask me which positions, “I would say that we need a local quality midfielder to create the balance between the team’s three lines. He should be able to provide the team with the required solutions in the coming second half of the league.”
Pedro doubled confirmed that he is not a fan of signing many players, but he supports the idea of signing players who could boost the team’s performance. “This is my core business, and I do believe that the Board of Directors trusts my work.”
He concluded his statement by saying: “We have a crystal clear goal, and we would fight till the end, even in the last three or four matches to put firm hands on the top spot. This is the Club’s philosophy, i.e., winning all the matches and titles each season.”
