Pedro: I am Held Responsible for Losing to Sharjah

Portuguese head coach of Al Ain Team, Pedro Emmanuel, stated plainly in the post-match press conference that he is held liable for losing his team’s match against Sharjah by 2-1.

“The match has two different parts. In the first half, we did not play, and the opponent took advantage of all the chances they got and turned them into goals,” he said.

He added: “In the second half, our performance was better, and the players showed that they wanted to play better and win the opponent. Had we scored at 62nd or 70th minute of the match, the result would have been different for sure.”

Pedro stressed that the team did not achieve our pre-set goals and lost the match’s three points. “We did well in the second half, and the result was far below our aspirations.”

He signed off by saying that the team has only four days to play another match against Al Fujairah and that they have to prepare well to ensure clinching the game three points.
