Caio has the potential to be an added value to the team

Pedro Emmanuel, the Portuguese head coach of Al Ain Team, opened the pre-match of round 3 match of AGL by stressing that the most critical issue for him is to go on with improving the team’s performance and maintain the excellent organization, given that the team played a tough match against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai.

He pointed out that the team had one full week to focus on boosting the players’ performance, and this is what makes the team stronger, along with correcting the mistakes committed.

“I am happy that the team players are in form, and this what we need at present. All the players are available and ready for the match and defend the Club’s badge strongly and as we desire,” Pedro stated.

Responding to a question on reasons for not giving Caio Canedo the chance to play in his original position, he said: “Caio is so important player in the team’s lineup. The most important thing for us that we all think to serve the team’s best interests. Each time, we consider having him in the team’s starting lineup as he has the potential to be an added value to the team. Currently, and after he was injured and not playing for a long time. I am sure he would help the team in the upcoming stages.”

As for the players who would not play the next match against Al Sharjah, he pointed out that the team is all set for the game. “As I stated earlier, all the players are fully ready though certain players are not ready to play full 90 minutes of the match compared to their teammates I am sure by the time we would reach the required level.”

He stressed that there is nothing better than playing such big matches against big teams, such as Shabab Al Ahli Dubai and Al Sharjah, as “this would definitely boost up the team’s performance.”

Pedro added: “Players always prefer to play big matches, and this is why we are ready. All of them are fully focused on achieving the pre-set targets, i.e., to perform well and snatch the match’s three points with all due respect to the opponent’s aspirations. We understand that we are going to play against a strong team who won the full six points out of their last two matches and at the top position of the standing table.”

Pedro underlined that he knows the nature of the opponent, and already “we are working to put the team’s in the right form.”

He went on to say: “We are mentally ready for the next match, and we would select the best players to play a match that is consistent with the Boss name.”

Al Ain’s head coach concluded his statement by saying: “I believe that our match against Al Sharjah would be similar to the match we played against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai. We would play with balance, and the team who enjoys a high level of focus during the match minutes would achieve their objective and won the match’s points, which we would do. We would play as an integrated team during the whole 90 minutes and clinch the three points.”
