Pedro Emmanuel, the head coach of the Al Ain Team, opened the post-match of matchweek 21 by addressing a message to his squad that he is so proud to be their coach, for they are the future of the team.

He also highly commended Japan’s Shiotani as a star and big player who consistently demonstrates leadership characteristics and fighting spirit in all the team’s matches. He hailed his significant performance in this match and his role during the 90 minutes of the game.

As for the match, Pedro stated that it was a balanced match and “we knew all the important details on the pitch. We were more organized with the ball and without the ball and got several great chances to score, and were able to take the lead through Laba Kodjo. I believe that Al Ain was so close to winning the match, but Bani Yas were fighting well and leveled the result in the second half.”

The Portuguese head coach pointed out that it is all about the small details that make the big difference in such big games. He highlighted that Khamis Al Hammadi of Bani Yas deserved his second yellow card for he intentionally kicked Caio from behind. “We were forced to play a minute and a half down by one player and conceded the second goal at this critical time of the match. We do respect Bani Yas, but we need to be treated fairly.”

“Personally, the match was great, and my team did well, and we deserved to get a better result. With all due respect to Bani Yas, we were so close to winning the match compared to the performance we exhibited on the pitch and the hard work and efforts we exerted during the whole week,” Pedro concluded his statement.
