Pleased with the Substantial and Strong Support of Ainawi Nation.. Sergiy Rebrov: Not Interested with Competitor’s Name but the Match’s Three Points
In his opening statement in the pre-match press conference of matchweek 8 of ADNOC Pro League held this evening, Sergiy Rebrov stressed the importance of players’ recovery at this stage, given that his squad played three matches in a short period.
“I have no interest in who is the team we are playing against, as we only focus on snatching the match three points regardless we are playing against Shabab Al Ahli or Al Dhafra. This is why we must play seriously, and a genuine desire to win the three-point of the coming match and achieve a positive result,” the Boss head coach stated.
Commenting on Al Dhafra’s style of playing since the appointment of a new coaching team, he said: “Al Dhafra’s performance is improving since the arrival of the new head coach and playing more aggressively.”
He also stated that he watched their last week’s match where they fought hard despite playing with one man down most of the match time. However, Sergiy pointed out that his team is playing at home and among the Ainawi fans, and the squad must focus on performing well and show respect to the opponent.
Regarding the most problematic issues facing the team at present, he said: “As I stated earlier, we have a tight schedule, but still we have 48 hours before the kickoff whistle to select the starting lineup. Certain players need recovery, but all the players want to play and feel as they all in form and ready to go.”
Before concluding the media conference, Sergiy Rebrov addressed a message to the Ainawi fans explaining that he is so pleased by their presence behind the team, especially during the recent away matches, as they constantly trigger the players to push themselves to the limit.
He stated: “I hope to see more fans in the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium stands after two days as we all work hard to make them happy, and their presence gives the squad the motivation to achieve great positive results.”
