“We were supposed to score more compared to the wasted chances,” the Ukrainian head coach of the Al Ain Team stated in the post-match press conference of matchweek 18 of ADNOC Pro League.

Sergiy Rebrov added: “Indeed, we achieved the most important target, the three points, and no player was injured.”

Responding to a question on whether Laba was upset to be replaced, he said: “Not at all, he was not disappointed, and personally, I understand his conditions. He is a striker, and in each match, he looks forward to scoring goals, particularly among fans who always wait impatiently for him to score. However, he played today while exhausted.”

Rebrov confirmed that it is his responsibility to ensure his safety and that he saved him for the next match for being a valuable asset to the team.

And when asked if he replaced him to avoid receiving a third yellow card in this match, Rebrov emphasized that there was nothing to do with any concern about suspending Laba if he had received a third card.

He concluded by saying that he understood the player’s conditions but the main reason for replacing him as he suffered from fatigue.
