In the post-match press conference held after Al Ain and Dibba match, Croatia’s Head Coach of Al Ain Zoran Mamic stated that his team did not play well against the home team. He confirmed that “I believe that the draw result was objective compared to the two teams’ performance. Indeed, the post was in our side when Dibba’s player sent a powerful shot and saved us from a guaranteed goal. However, in the second half my team’s performance was evidently improved we wasted lots of opportunities to score in the home team’s net.”

“Our mission in the next round against Al Nasr will not be easy under the difficult circumstances that my team is experiencing. Yet. We have to be optimistic and work hard to compensate the absences of key players in our starting lineup,” added he.

Responding to a question on the phenomenon of injuries that did not spare most of the players, starting from Shiotani, then Amer and Bandar and finally Caio, he said: “Caio is the only player to suffer from muscle strain, while the rest of the injuries were a result of strong kicks.” He further explained: “In fact, it is not easy for any football team to face such circumstances specially the alternatives are not many. We have to wait for the winter transfer season to further enhance the team’s lines with the required players.”

Commenting on a question on Dibba’s performance contrary to the Coach’s expectations, he said: “I think that Dibba is an organized team and he has been playing well during their previous matches. Also, the team has quality and skillful players. Dibba was able to score against us; in contrast, we had 5 to 6 chances but we did not translate in the right manner into the net of our competitor whose squad is complete and suffers from no absences unlike Al Ain who misses Douglas, Shiotani, Amer, Bandar and Ajab in addition to Amoory who has just rejoined the team following a long period of absence.”

“I think Al Wasl can lose points at any stage and personally I have no interest in the results of the results of our competitors as I am only focusing to prepare my team for the next matches,” answering a question on the draw result of Al Wasl and Ajman match.

On his statement regarding his team’s ability to be the Winter’s Champ and whether he still insist on his statement, he replied: “I said it was good to finish the first round topping the standing table, but the best is to wait until the end of the league and be crowned with the title.” he concluded by saying: “We have to wait for our two clashes against Al Nasr Dhafra and we have to work hard and do our best and see how things go.”
