“Al Ain Team’s strategy is to win all remaining matches of the current season,” Ukraine’s head coach of Al Ain Team, Sergiy Rebrov, stated in the post-match press conference of matchweek 21 of ADNOC Pro League against Shabab Al Ahli.

Winning the guests by 1-0, he said: “Today, we snatched three critical points in our journey in the league by winning a competitive opponent, given that Shabab Al Ahli performed well and the squad has two players in each position. However, we played a balanced football, took the lead in the first half, and tried to boost the result by scoring more goals.”

The head coach stressed that his squad did well and deserved to win the opponent. He also pointed out that they have to play seriously in the coming final match of the PLC Pro Cup against Shabab Al Ahli.

Responding to a question on why he did not rotate the players in preparation for the PLC Pro Cup final, he commented: “As I stated earlier, our strategy is based on winning all the matches. This is why we selected the fully ready players to be part of the team’s starting lineup.”

Commenting on another question on why he changed Saeed Jumaa’s position to play in the left-back side although he is right back, he said: “I have no other options. I want to commend his performance and thank him for all he did, considering that he just joined the squad after being injured. He played in the three friendlies held during the recent break and proved that he is a valuable asset to the team. From my point of view, he was a fighter in tonight’s match.”
