The Head Coach of Esteghlal Tehran, Winfried Schäfer, confirmed that Al Ain and Esteghlal teams played a very good game. “In the first half, we managed to put high pressure on Al Ain and we managed to get the lead but in the second half the opponent showed a strong desire to level and they did manage to draw. I am very happy with the performance of my team despite the draw result.”

The Head Coach of Esteghlal Tehran expressed his thanks and appreciation to the fans of his team who supported the players through the best methods before, during and after the match. He added: “I would be happy if they continue their strong support for the team during their coming matches.”

Commenting on a question on the reasons behind the drop in his team’s performance during the second half of the match, he said: “There is no football team who could play90 minutes at the same level of performance, but we played a very good game against a strong competitor. In the second half, it was clear that certain players felt tired, while Al Ain adopted the strategy of high pressure attacks. Indeed, in the last 15 minutes we were able to dominate the match through exerting pressure on the opponent and winning again all the spaces of the pitch
