Seeking no excuses, Zlatko blames draw with Baniyas on lacking finishing touches

Commenting on his squad’s 1-1 draw with Baniyas in the post-match press conference, Al Ain’s Croatian coach Zlatko Dalić confirmed that his team missed the chance of cushioning their lead pointing out that football matches always require focus and seriousness until the final whistle.
“We should have scored a second goal as we created several scoring opportunities in front of our opponents’ goal,” he said.
“My team’s problem,” he continued “is the inability to take advantage of any scoring opportunity, and we worked to reinforce our attacks by engaging more than one striker but in vain.”
He denied that the undesired draw was brought about by Baniyas’ tactics; “Our rivals’ tactics have nothing to do with our loss of the two points. The draw was our own mistake, and there were no physical reasons as well. As I said earlier, we are required to stay focused and serious and respect our opponents throughout the match. Therefore, we will not seek excuses to justify our draw with Baniyas.”
