H. E. Shamis Khamis Al Muslihi, Chargé d’affaires, stated that “It is difficult to predict the results of the football matches, because we are all well aware of the fact that the winner team is the one who gives more in the pitch and enjoy the strong desire to win and fully concentrating on this target. This means that the best team on the ground is the closest to winning the match. Though, Al Ain was able to be part of the final match of the AFC Champions League in its last version and now they enjoy great experience of the nature of the Asian Championship confrontations. For me, I am expecting Al Ain will win Esteghlal Tehran Team by 2-0.”

He added, “All the teams competing to snatch the Asian title are familiar and recognize the level and value of the”Boss”. Personally, I hope that the team will fly back home with the three points added to their balance. This is based on the team’s strong results they are used to achieving in their away matches.  I do believe that the current generation, under the command of Omar Abdul Rahman is capable of embracing the continental glory.”

He went on saying, “Apart from our concerns to arrive at the final match and win the title, I think the team’s focus is fully channeled on how to win the match against Esteghlal Tehran Team. Indeed, winning the match will enhance the team’s chances to qualify for the quarter-finals before even facing our opponent in the second leg next week at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, the “Architectural Masterpiece”.

“I hope also that Al Ahli will achieve a strong result in their upcoming match, so that both teams, Al Ain and Al Ahli, will qualify for the following stage. We have full confidence in the two representatives of our beloved country especially when it comes to the reputation of the UAE football in foreign championships.
