“Playing in the AFC Champions League competition is not new for me as I was playing in Al Nasr FC when I participated in this continental competition for the first time. I am accustomed to playing in this important competition.,” he added.

Commenting on a question on his deft shot that hit the post, he stated: “As a matter of fact, I was so motivated to implement all the head coach’s instruction precisely and in the right manner. I did strive along with my teammates to translate his plan into a goal and that what happened when I sent that shot but I was not lucky enough to have it into the opponent’s net.”

He concluded: “It is not a secret any way to tell you that we left Al Ain to Tehran with sights set to snatch the three points of the match, but the draw result is satisfactory given that the we are playing away in front of 65,000 spectator under a completely different climate. We will do our best to win the 2nd leg home match.”
