Al Ain Players Know Well What They Are Meant to Do and Celebrations of Victories Are Deferred to the End of Season

“They are the usual preparations for any match and all in form for the next match with no injuries since our last match against Emirates,” Sergiy Rebrov opened the pre-match press conference held today and dedicated for matchweek 16 of ADNOC Pro League.

Ukraine’s head coach added: “Our match against Bani Yas Team would be different given that the team is different from Khorfakkan and Emirates for the new opponent adopts a different style of playing. However, and as I always say, we have to focus on our tram’s affairs and prepare seriously for the next match, and I expect seeing the massive number of fans in the stands to support the players.”

Commenting on the first match against Bani Yas this season and the opponent’s results, Rebrov said: “I still remember our match against Bani Yas in the first half of ADNOC Pro League. It was a difficult match due to the high temperature, but it is now better. I watched several matches for Bani Yas, and you could expect anything from them. However, they lost twice in the last five matches, won once, and held to draw twice.”

He again pointed out that Bani Yas’ reaction on the pitch is not expected, and the Al Ain squad must be aware of the opponent’s strengths and weaknesses to make use of them.

He also stated: “At the same time, we have to focus on our team’s affairs and to take advantage of playing at home and among our fans to show our team’s strength.”

Responding to a question on the atmosphere in the changing room given that the team did not lose any match so far, he commented: “For me, players are working hard and know well what they are meant to do on the pitch. We will postpone celebrating our achievements until the end of the season. Yes, we won the first two matches since the beginning of the second half of the league, but everything is expected in this competition. Hence, we have to play and prepare seriously, and then we would celebrate victories by the end of the season.”

The Boss’ coach expressed his pleasure with the fans’ support and said that they primarily support the team and their achievements.

He said that he still remembers when he was a player and how important it is for him to see them as one of the most critical factors for success, which pushes the players to make them happy.

He also stated that he hopes to see more spectators in the stands and not only in the big matches as all of them represent additional three points to the team regardless of who is the opponent, nor their place on the standing table.

He concluded his statement by stressing that “Friday’s match against Bani Yas is one of the most important matches in this period of the league.”
