Still at the League Forefront.. The “Boss” is held to 1-1 draw by Shabab Al Ahli Dubai and Prepares for AFC Champions League

The “Boss” was satisfied by 1-1 draw result with the home team, Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, in mtchweek14 of the Arabian Gulf League held at Rashid Stadium on Friday 26th January.

The first half ended with a goalless draw and then Al Ain took the lead through the Sweden’s Marcus Berg goal at the “66” minute of the match, while Saeed Jasim equalized at “78”.

By this draw result, Al Ain FC moves forward to 32 points and maintained their top position of AGL. Meanwhile, Shabab Al Ahli Dubai raised its score to 17 points and climb to fifth place “temporarily”.
The confrontation began quickly and the “Boss” exhibited a great desire to take the lead by launching offensive attacks in the area of the home team from depth and flanks. This pressure forced Shabab Al Ahli Dubai players to retreat to the back lines and rely on counterattacks. Sweden’s Berg was almost to score the team first goal when he flew high to meet a right cross sent by Ahmad Khalil but his deceiving ball passed near the post to be a goal kick “26”.

Ahmad Khalil also sent a powerful shot inside the box when he received a cross from Mohammed Abdul Rahman but went over the bar “39”.

Swedish international Markus Berg almost opened the scoring for the Al Ain team when he reached the top of the net with a header from Ahmad Khalil’s right-hand side when he met the ball with a “deceptive” header but his ball passed the far post to be a goal kick “26. Ahmed Khalil sent a powerful shot from inside the area when he received a pass from Mohammed Abdulrahman but the ball hit the crossbar slightly “39”. Then, the Referee, Sultan Abdul Razzaq, whistled announcing the end of the first half of the match with a goalless draw between the two teams.

With the kickoff whistle of the second half, Al Ain imposed an unbounded siege on Shabab Al Ahli Dubai players in their area forcing the coach of the home team to block all spaces specially in midfield.

The “53” minute of the match witnessed the first offensive attempt in the second half that concluded by Mohammed Abdul Rahman with a direct rocket shot from the edge of the box, but went high centimeters above the crossbar.

Ryan Yaslam and Hussein El Shahat competently exhibited an exciting skill display among the defenders in the right side prior Yaslam sent a perfect cross to Mohammed Abdul Rahman, who sent a powerful shot but away from the three posts “58”.

Al Ain was about to score twice in the last minutes of the match but the cross bar was there to and prevent the ball to be into the back-net prior the referee whistled announcing the end of the match with positive draw result 1-1.
