Matar Obeid Al Dhaheri “Al Sahbani”, Al Ain First Team Manager, underscored that the draw of the President’s Cup resulted in two extremely out of balance groups. He also stressed that the “Boss” as usual prefers to play big matches and always ready to compete to win the title of this dearest championship from the first match until the final one.

Commenting on a question of having a replica of the thrilling final match of the President’s Cup took place in the last season between Al Ain and Al Wasl with the kickoff of this current season, he said: “I doubt such a thing will happen again as the final match is completely different from playing a match at the kickoff of the season. Each phase has its own calculations and Al Ain always aspires to play against big teams as focus in such matches is far higher.”

“In fact, all Al Ain and Al Wasl matches are genuine El Clasico and everybody is waiting to watch them for the high potentials and quality players both teams have. Not to forget also their great achievements and the massive number of fans standing behind the two teams,” said he in response to a question on whether he expected to play against Al Wasl prior the draw.

He added: “When I arrived at the hall of the UAE University and specifically prior the draw, I met my brother Humaid Yousef, Al Wasl Team Manager, and I told him while making a joke that I have a feeling that we will play against your team in the first match. He responded with a big smile saying that I hope not to play against Al Ain except in the final match. Anyway, as I have mentioned to you earlier Al Ain prefers to play big matches in all competitions.” He signed off: “I wish the “Boss” all the best of luck and to clinch all the titles they are competing to win this new season.”
