Juan Carlos Garrido opened the pre-match press conference dedicated for the round 2 match of his team against the home team, Esteghlal Tehran, by underscoring his squad is fully ready for all the possibilities and circumstances that they might encounter in Azadi Stadium. “It is a very important match between two big teams in Asia at one of the biggest stadiums in the whole region. We are aware that we will play before 50-70 thousand spectators and I believe that it is a motivating factor though it is not easy at all. So, we are required to adapt to the atmosphere of the match quickly and strive to exhibit our genuine fighting spirit and deal with all the details of the match with high concentration ass of the kick off whistle until the last minute of the match.”

Juan Carlos stressed that he has full confidence in his team’s potentials to deal with such conditions in the right manner in their quest to achieve their pre-set goal out of this match compared to the strong charisma of the Boss, the players’ experience and high-quality skills.

Responding to a question on the expected absences in the coming match, he stated: “We will miss Ismael Ahmad due to the red cared he received in the recent match, in addition to Caio Lucas and Mohammed Abdul Rahman due to injury. However, I have full confidence in my team and the starting line-up players. Indeed, I hope will be lucky enough and fly back to Al Ain City with three points in our hands. All the players are required to fight and play to defend the logo and work as one team with high focus from the first minute of the match until the final whistle.”

“We have already closed the chapter of our last match against the Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal and sights are all set on the coming match against round 2 match against Esteghlal Tehran,” Juan Carlos commented on a question on reasons behind losing the round 1 match to Al Hilal. He added: “Our aim is to snatch the three points and be able to win one of the two qualifying cards to the next stage of ACL. I do believe that Al Ain did well in that match, but we were unlucky enough to translate all the chances we got into goals.”
