AL AIN PALACE MUSEUM HOSTS TEAMS COMPETING TO WIN THE TITLE OF 9TH EDITION OF THE “INTERNATIONAL” TOURNAMENT ON THE NIGHT OF HONOR
The Organizing Committee of Hazza Bin Zayed International Junior Football Tournament 2017 has been so keen to have cultural, tourism, heritage and entertaining programs as part of the competition events for teams competing to win the title of 9th edition of the tournament. The teams being divided into two groups. Group (A) comprising Partizan of Serbia, Valencia of Spain and Al Ain and Group (B) comprising Athletic Bilbao of Spain, Zamalek of Egypt and Al Wydad of Morocco
Abdullah Ali, the Tournament Manager and Administrative Supervisor of the Football Academy Sector of Al Ain Club, said, “The success associated with the name of Hazza Bin Zayed International Tournament leveraged the level of our responsibility as an organizing committee to keep up with the signs of development. We are fully aware that the objective of organizing such competitions is not limited only to the technical perspectives, but associated also with other additional important aspects. These objectives include offering the participating teams of various football academies the chance to get together on the sidelines of the tournament. With this vision, we accommodate all the teams in one hotel, Hili Rayhaan by Rotana, so that they have the chance to meet and communicate all the time. He added, “Of course, there are other additional cultural, heritage, tourism objectives.”
He stated, “I believe that the International Tournament proved its technical excellence and attracted an exceptional large number of spectators.” He continued to say, “On Tuesday, teams competing for the title of 9th edition of the International Tournament experienced extraordinary moments as they attended the AFC Champions League match between Al Ain and Al Ahli KSA held in Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium; the stadium which won the title of the World Best Football Stadium 2014, and where the final match of the “International Tournament” will be hosted.
Abdullah pointed out that all arrangements related to the ceremony dedicated to honor the participating delegations are completed. He gave further explanations by saying, “We have held a meeting with the management of Al-Ain Palace Museum during which all the details related to the ceremony were discussed. It is decided that the program will set off with a tour of the palace sections to give an idea on their contents and architectural and engineering features. The management of Al-Ain Palace Museum provides guides to give visiting delegations an idea on the foremost details related to the history of this edifice featured by an exceptional location. Indeed, the Palace is considered important in Al Ain exactly as the heart of the body.”
In response to a question on the reason for selecting Al Ain Palace Museum to host the horning ceremony, Abdullah said, “As I mentioned to you that the objectives of the tournament are not only technical, there are also several cultural, touristic and heritage important aspects. The selection of Al Ain Palace Museum specifically is based on the fact that it is one of the most important heritage and historical landmarks in Al Ain which was built in 1937. It was the headquarters of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan during his reign of Al Ain from 1946 until 1966.”
Abdullah Ali concluded, “We, as the Organizing Committee presided by Sultan Rashed, Member of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Football Club Company and Member of National Teams and Technical Affairs Committee in UAE Football Association, are highly committed to adopt the best international standards for the organization of the International Tournament.”
