In the pre-match press conference of Al Ain against Al Hilal, Al Ain player Mohannad Al Enezi stressed the fact that his team was not lucky enough to win any of their recent four matches in the group stage of ACL2018 and that they all understand that they have no choice except to win Monday’s match against Al Hilal to be able to snatch one of the two qualification cards to move forward to the following stage of ACL2018.

He emphasised: “The “Boss” preparations for the coming match against Al Hilal went as planned, particularly all “international” players back to the squad.” He further explained: “We are ready and highly motivated to play Monday’s clash match and we are playing in ACL2018 not for the sake of participation, but to qualify to the advanced stages. We will play tomorrow to win the three points with all due respect to Al Hilal’s aspirations.”

Responding to a question that Al Ain experienced similar situation to the one they have right now in the group stage despite the poor results the team achieved at that time, yet they were able to reach the final match of ACL2016, he said: “As I stated earlier, Al Ain’s goal is not only to have the honour of participating in ACL2018, but also to win the title and will not be happy at all to disqualify.” He concluded by saying: “I hope that we will be able to reach the final match and clinch the ACL2018 title. Also, we are all awaiting the great massive support from the Ainawi Nation in Monday’s match against Al Hilal as we are looking at our fans as the most important player in the team.”
