While missing the international players, Bandar Al Ahbabi, Yahiya Nader, Caio Canedo, and Morocco’s Soufian Rahimi, Ukraine’s head coach of the Al Ain Team, kicks off the home training camp in Abu Dhabi by an evening training session.

Noteworthy, the head coach selected 24 players, namely: “Khalid Eisa, Mohammed Said Bu Senda, Sultan Al Muntheri, Danilo Arboleda, Saeed Jumaa, Rafael Pereira, Mohammed Ali Shaker, Kouame Autonne, Saeed Al Menhali, Erik Gorgonis, Adham Khaled, Ahmad Barman, Mohammed Abbas, Ali Al Blooshi, Andrea Radovanovic, Khalid Al Blooshi, Mane’ Al Shamesi, Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Sultan Al Shamesi, Saeed Al Blooshi, Christian Guanca, Jonatas de Santos, Jamal Marouf and Laba Kodjo”.

Ahmad Al Shamesi, Manager of Al Ain Team, stated that the home training camp is an excellent chance to prepare all the players, especially those the injured who has rejoined the team recently, including Sultan Al Shamesi, who played for 25 minutes in the recent friendly match against Al Taawon showing a satisfactory level of performance. He also mentioned Kouame Autonne and Mohammed Abbas, who are expected to play the second friendly match. The last player he mentioned was Khalid Al Blooshi, who has recently kicked off his rehabilitation program.

Al Shamesi added: “The coach also selected several distinguished players from U-19 Team of Al Ain Football Academy. He decided to select these players as he watched certain matches of the young teams held in the academy’s stadiums around Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium. Therefore, I wish them all the best of luck and achieve the desired gains.”

The Al Ain Team Manager explained that the head coach made a slight modification to the camp program after the official announcement of the dates of the second half of the league. He pointed out that the team would return to Al Ain City by 30 instead of 31 January. He stressed that the squad would resume training sessions in the Gardens City.

In response to a question about the team’s program during the camp period, he said, “The camp started today, and the team will do two training sessions, morning and evening. The team is scheduled to play a friendly match against the Armenian Pyunik Yerevan.

Commenting on a question on the participation of the Togolese “international” Laba Kodjo in the team’s last friendly match, he said: “Laba Kodjo, the top scorer of our league, joined a special training program under the supervision of the coaching teams. Therefore, he did not play the recent friendly match against Al Taawon Club.”

He concluded his statement that the coach granted the chance for the distinguished striker Jamal Marouf and several players who recovered from injury, including Sultan Al Shamesi and Saeed Al Menhali, in addition to the players of the Reserved and U-19 teams.
