Al Ain was able to achieve a significant victory by winning home team Hatta by 3-0 in the match held on Saturday 23rd September at Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium marking the conclusion of the Arabian Gulf League week 2.

Al Ain took the lead in the first half of the match by scoring two goals held the signature of Sweden’s striker Marcus Berg at 16″ and 24″. While Brazil’s Douglas Dyanfres handed his side superiority by scoring the third goal at 59″.

By this result, Al Ain balance becomes 4 points and move forward to the second position “temporarily” in the standing table, while Hatta’s balance remains pointless holding the last position.

Pressing Outset

Al Ain commenced the match by exerting pressure on the home team, and Sweden’s striker Marcus Berg was about to score his first goal just 5 minutes from the kickoff whistle when his shot missed the back nets by centimeters sending it over the crossbar.

Al Ain’s attempts to take the lead did not stop as Mohammed Ahmad sent a precise cross from the center of the field to Berg who deceived Hatta’s goalkeeper by a smart head ball, but the latter was able to send it out the lines with great difficulty at 8″.

The home team tried to respond and was successful at 10″ to arrive at the operations area of the “Boss” through their player Samuel Roza by an individual effort; yet his strong ball passed by the goal post.

Dominating the early proceedings, Berg was able to score the first goal after 16 minutes into the game when the Japanese defender Tsukasa Shiotani delivered a cross from the right into the far post. Shiotani’s cross was headed by Douglas for his teammate Markus Berg who stabbed it in to hand his side an early lead.

Berg doubled his tally after 24 minutes into the game when he received a stunning cross by a magic touch from the midfielder Amer Abdul Rahman. Berg moved behind Hatta’s defence and turn it to the back through a “deceiving” head ball which passed the goalkeeper confirming Al Ain’s lead by two goals before the two teams went to the first half break.

In the second half, Al Ain showed a strong desire to enhance their lead and waited till the minute 59 into the game to add the third goal through Brazil’s striker Douglas Dyanfres who penetrated the defenders through mutual passes between him and Berg before firing a powerful shot into Hatta’s back net.

At the minute 71 into the game, Al Ain was about to add the fourth goal through Sweden’s Marcos Berg but the ball hit the crossbar before reaching the well-positioned Ryan Yaslam inside the box. The latter was crippled by Hatta’s keeper and the referee Sultan Abdul Razzaq did not react giving the signal to continue playing.

By that, the match ended with a 3-0 win over Hatta.
