Winning Titles is by Deeds not Words, and Al Ain’s Dictionary Does not Have the Term “Impossible.”

Al Ain’s “International Stars” Work Hard to Serve the Best Interests of the Club and UAE National Teams

“Preparations for the new season are going well and as planned. Also, the atmosphere of the summer camp in Austria motivates all of us to do our best and work in the spirit of the one team to achieve the team’s targets in a new season full of challenges,” Al Ain midfielder Japan’s Tsukasa Shiotani stated in an exclusive statement to Al Ain official website.

He commented on the anticipations of nominating Al Ain FC to compete to win all titles of the new season by saying: “Big teams are always nominated to win titles of any new season prior the kick-off the season. However, it is the deeds not words that make you win titles and not anticipations and nominations. We have to boost our efforts if we want to clinch titles and this is what we are doing here in the pre-season preparation camp. The players of the squad along with the coaching teams and admin staff enjoy high spirits, and their aspirations are limitless. Indeed, Al Ain target is clear, and sights are set to put firm hands on top spots and clinch titles, given the big names and stars of the Boss and all of them want to keep his international badge by doing his best, and I am not an exception.”

He added: “Al Ain had already announced prior the end of the past season that plans are set to achieve the team’s big goals in all home and away championships. The club kept all the players who entered their last six months and attracted exceptional local and foreign players. Measures taken by the management made us held liable to strongly defend the team’s badge and motivate us to push ourselves to the limit to meet the expectations of the management and embrace the glory by winning the title of the AFC Champions League because simply Al Ain does not know the word impossible.”

Responding to a question on the prominent gains he achieved since joining the Boss squad, he said: “Absolutely, I attained immense gains since I joined the Boss squad, most importantly I am living right now in UAE, and that gave me the chance to get in touch directly with the great Emirati people who are closely attached to their customs, traditions and cultural heritage. This is why anybody resides in UAE tries his best to embody the values of tolerance, love, and peace. Also, I have already learned some common Arabic terms and phrases used by players, in addition to the English language and other nations’ cultural and social aspects. However, joining the Boss has been an added value to all my achievements in my career and gave me the chance to play in the FIFA Club World Cup- UAE 2018 and that left the door wide open to me to re-join Japan National Football Team. Indeed, by playing for Al Ain, the gains I attained are abundant.”

“I am always keen to visit my family and friends during my leave days in Japan,” he said in response to a question on how he enjoyed his leave following the end of the past season. He added: “I tried my best to have the traditional Japanese food which I did not have the chance to eat during the season. I also tried to chill and take a break following the great efforts I exerted during the past long season and visited the key touristic place and training centres in Japan.”

On his new investment in establishing a training centre under his name, he said: “It is not a secret to tell you that this project is my life-long dream. The main goal of launching this project is to consolidate the concept of joy and happiness among children, especially among those who enjoy playing football. I believe that to have a good starting point for any player is an essential step to have an excellent and professional career and this has been my motive to establish “Shiotani Football School” during my recent visit to my homeland in 2019. I will do my best to develop this business to achieve my goals in establishing a team of professional players in addition to support Japan’s clubs and national team with professional junior and young professional players. I do not seek to earn financial gains out of this project. The school has 35 players of different age categories including U-8, U-10, U-11 and U-12 teams and hope we will have more players on board next year.”

Shiotani also talked about the most important goals he scored since he joined the Boss squad. He said: “Each goal has a unique place in the memory of the player and all my goals I scored has a place in my heart, and all of them are important. However, all the goals I scored in the FIFA Club World Cup- UAE 2018 are the most important. I scored two goals in the recent championship to boost my balance to be four goals. I am so proud of this achievement, and playing in such an international Mondial is something different.”
