During the post-match press conference held following the end of the match between Al Ain and Dibba, Croatia’s Coach Zoran Mamic has confirmed that his team is capable of attaining a historic achievement by clinching the two titles of the Arabian Gulf League and the President’s Cup in the current football season, given that the team is close to winning the league title. However, facts show that there still two matches to go prior the end of the season.

He added: “We have other challenges in the President’s Cup and the AFC Champions League. we are required to demonstrate our genuine the spirit of fighting, focus and seriousness and to be smart enough to handle all the coming matches in the various competitions in order to achieve our goals identified before the beginning of the season.”

Zoran expressed his dismay at the many opportunities that his team wasted in front of Dibba stressing that the competitor has had some opportunities to score exactly similar to what happened in the math against the Saudi Hilal FC. “Had the opponent invested in such wasted opportunities, they would have made our mission so complicated,” said he.

He congratulated the team’s players and the fans for the deserved victory and stated: “We have important challenges until the end of the season and every confrontation will be more important than the previous one.”

Commenting on a question on reasons behind wasting chances to score during the team’s recent confrontations, he said: “Football is always associated with such things. Sometimes you score and in others you do not, and you need to be in your lucky day.” He commented on Caio’s performance by saying: “If we take into consideration the bad luck factor associated with the Brazilian Caio Lucas who missed a number of chances in the past matches even today, we will find that some coaches are keeping the player away from the team. However, I trusted his skills and quality and motivated him as needed because he has the ability to make the difference.”

“If you do not take advantage of opportunities you got in certain matches, you will not be able to achieve the positive result. Al Ain is a big team and has not yet won any title this year, and so we are required to show our strong personality in the upcoming competitions to realize the desired aspirations,” added he.

“I am not worried about my team because I have the type of players who enjoy the professional mentality and know very well that football rewards the best team and the team who desire to achieve their ambitions and make their fans happy. Indeed, they will not accept to waste all efforts exerted since the beginning of this season,” said Zoran when he was asked if he has doubts that his team’s level of performance will drop down after winning the title of the Arabian Gulf League.

He went on to say: “Al Ain is required to prepare well for the next match in the President’s Cup because such competitions are always associated with surprises. This justifies why we are required to raise the level of focus, redouble efforts and show respect for the competitor whatever their classification. This is consistent with the strategy of Al Ain in all matches played in various competitions.”
