Al Ain’s international midfielder, Rayan Yaslam, stressed that Al Ain’s players did their best in the first leg match against Algeria’s ES Sétif, but they were not lucky enough to score from the numerous wasted chances. “Certainly, the opponent team enjoyed a higher level of readiness and they are a good team and has many quality players in their squad. Congrats and wish all the best for Al Ain in the return match,” said he.

“We do understand we have to be fully ready during the coming return match with sights set to win our opponent and qualify to the following stage of the Arab Club Champions Cup,” stressed he.

On grounds that led Al Ain to lose the match, he pointed out: “As I stated before, we are still in the mid of our preseason training program, and we have not reached the required level of readiness to play in such a big competition.” He added: “We do not have to forget that the team misses a number of key players who could not play this match due to injuries. However, players selected to be part of the staring lineup did well. We do apologize for our loyal fans and we are all looking forward to playing better and achieving a positive result that enables us to qualify to the next stage.”
