We Did Not Up To Standard Against Al Wasl.. Schreuder: We Have To Review Our Situation And Arrange Our Cards During The Next Stage
The Dutchman, Alfred Schreuder, Al Ain’s coach, congratulated the Al Wasl team on its well-deserved victory over Al Ain as part of the seventh round of the ADNOC Pro League. He stressed: “We did not up to the standard, and we had some problems. The opponent waited for our mistakes to be used and allowed it to rely on counterattacks through which was able to score the goals. The reality confirms that we played about 15 matches, lost two matches, and we must review our situation and arrange our cards again”.
In response to a question about why he ruled out Matthias Blasius and Amir Atzili from the team’s squad, he said: “The players who are always selected on the squad are the ones who prove their worth in being in the starting lineup, and we played several matches without them and were able to achieve strong results”.
Regarding the reason for withdrawing Jonatas da Santos, who was replaced in the second half of the match, minutes after he entered the field, he said: “Jonatas entered the match excitedly and was dealing within the course of the game with great enthusiasm and emotions. As a result, he received a yellow card one minute after he was replaced. Thus, I decided to withhold him so as not to lose one of the players in the team lineup because he was close to getting the second yellow card”.
