Zlatko Dalić, the Croatian coach of Al Ain, congratulated his men and the loyal fans alike for the outstanding performance and remarkable victory in today’s game; with more ball possession and desire to get the full three points.
Speaking in the post-match press conference, Zlatko pointed out that they were lucky enough to curb the counter-attack made by Sharjah at a decisive time. “For almost an hour, we completely controlled the course of the match and wasted several chances; but managed to achieve our objective ultimately”, he commented.
“Up to 6 basic players have been missed in today’s match. Nevertheless, the substitutes showed a superb performance. I wholeheartedly thank the fans who came to support their squad and enjoy the performance. Those who didn’t make it have missed a lot”, he explained.
“Personally, I am more than happy to have a clean sheet so far in the AGL. In fact, I spoke to the players before the match and underlined the importance of concentration and keeping our net clean, especially as the foes in previous encounters scored early leads”, he added.
Zlatko expressed pride of his men’s performance in the match. “Saeed Al Katheeri replaced Douglas; he did very well and wasted several opportunities. Diaky scored the third goal after wasting many chances as well. On the other hand, Caio is back on the track and scored the first goal”, he went on.
It’s noteworthy that Colombian footballer Danilo Asprilla was missed today.
“Mohanned Al Enezi received his third yellow card today and will be on the bench during the next encounter. We need the perfect substitute. It’s fair enough to say that I trust all the players in the club”, he concluded.
