Zlatko turns the page of the unjustifiable draw with Dibba

In his post-match press conference, Zlatko Dalić, Al Ain FC Croatian coach, sounded dissatisfied with his men’s 2-2 draw with Dibba today owing it to their underperformance.

“We were leading by 2 goals; some players thought the win was secured and began showcasing their skills instead of maintaining the same persistence and attentiveness till the end; as result we wasted 2 points,” he commented.

He added that they need to leave today’s match behind but not without learning an important lesson of staying serious from the kickoff till the final whistle. “Despite all, I’d like to congratulate our rivals for their powerful performance and fighting spirit,” he said.

He did not accept that the absence of Caio and Asprilla may excuse today’s draw because football is a team game with 11 players; “The fact is that our performance fell short of winning and gaining 3 points,” he added.

“Zlatko refused to attach a great importance on having to miss his playmaker Omar Abdurrahman in their next game versus Al Shabab because he was sent off today”. He commented.

He also mentioned that he always prepares his men to win the match regardless of their rivals’ status. “I expected today’s scenario and that’s why I asked my players to stay attentive and serious throughout the match, we need to prepare ourselves properly for Al Shabab’s match in order to achieve the desired result,” he replied.

He concluded by confirming that Al Ain FC ultimate goal goes beyond the AFC final and to reap all titles especially the AGL title.
