Croatian Al Ain FC coach Zoran Mamić has said “I think that our match against Al Dafrah will not be easy, especially after the break associated with the official “international” matches of the national teams, lasted about three weeks, in which we played a friendly match without “international players” and certainly, friendly matches is a strong training.”
He continued:
“We should be in a good degree of readiness and focus, although the team will miss the efforts of a number of elements due to injury and suspension and we are required to show the best we have in Thursday’s match to achieve victory over the rivals and gain the three points regardless of the circumstances we currently face ” .
He continued:
Al Ain is lucky to have a large number of its players who are part of the national teams, but the majority returned in a bad mood after losing two games against Japan and Australia, respectively, except for Nasser Al Shamrani, who achieved positive results with his national team.
Commenting on a question about his team’s goal in the league competition before five rounds of the competition’s end, if he was looking forward to the second or third place, the coach said:
“Our main objective is to focus on getting ready to win all the remaining matches in the championship’s league.
“Away from thinking about the team’s position in the league, by the end of the last round of the championship, we will see the outcome of the competition,” he added.
About the expected absences in the list of his team and the return of Mohammed Ahmed, who played the last friendly match, the coach said:
“We will not rush to push Mohamed Ahmed, in Al Dafrah’s match, and personally, I’m very happy with his return to the team line-up, being distinct and can make difference in the back line, and he joined for only 20 minutes in the friendly match as a part of his training program, but he’s not in the required degree of physical readiness to participate in the match against Al Dafrah, ”
Mamic added:
It has been decided that Amer Abdul Rahman will be absent due to injury, along with Ismail Ahmad, who was also injured while playing for the national team. Lee Myung Joo and Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri will not join because they are suspended due to acquiring the third yellow card in the last match within the championship’s league.
About if he thinks that Al Dafrah’s match is a good “trial” before the game against Al Ahli Saudi FC, he said:
“I think the pause was a good opportunity to work with the team in an excellent manner, especially after we have called a number of second team players, and personally, I’m very happy with their efforts during their presence in the first team trainings, and certainly, we currently focus on Al Dafrah’s match from our strategy in dealing with every match, all of our matches are important and we’re not going to think about our match against Al Ahli in the champion’s league before the end of the Al Dafrah’s match.”
And On the participation of Douglas in the Universities Sports Federation’s match, he said:
“I think that Douglas is a good player who has very distinguished skills.”
