The Croatian Head Coach, Zoran Mamic, underscored the importance of the pre-preparation period preceding the kick off of the new season. He pointed out, “the preparatory camp is the real commencement of the new football season, and through it players are get to be ready in the appropriate manner to win all the strong challenges waiting for the team in the coming local and continental competitions. All of us are required to double their efforts and show their best, besides dealing with issues regarding arranging their daily life program, follow worthy diet program and sleeping for sufficient time to achieve the set gains and arrive at the required level of readiness.”

“The home camp witnessed the return of certain injured players to join the team. It is planned that the players of the UAE Olympic Football Team in addition to Saeed Al Minhali will join their teammates on 20th July in their preparatory program,” said he. He went on to say, “This program will include extensive training sessions and playing a number of friendly matches to be at the required level of readiness in preparation for the new season which we will commence by meeting Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal FC in the first leg of the quarterfinals of AFC Champions League.”

Commenting on a questing regarding the Al Ain’s foreigners file, he stated, “Personally, I am so happy by the new players, Marcus Berg and Shiotani signed to Al Ain because I think they are both quality players who can achieve the added value in the coming stage. Indeed, I wish Al Ain FC Management approves my request to retain the Brazilian striker, Douglas Dyanfres, due to his excellent skills that are consistent with the style of the team in the coming stage.”

Appreciation and Commendation
With regard to the commendation of the AFC addressed to Al Ain FC on the sidelines of the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League based on the statistics of the team during the last confrontation against Iran’s Esteghlal Tehran, Zoran said,” “We certainly achieved an important victory at the expense of a strong opponent in the second leg. We lost the first leg match by 0-1. However, Al Ain FC showed their great and skillful capabilities and strong personality in that match, especially the team’s results in the league competition were not as expected and required as well.”
He added, “I think winning our strong opponent team by 6-1 is a great result, but the most important thing for us right now is to qualify for the quarterfinals. Football does not recognize the language of history as much as rewarding the ready and best team and the most competitive team to win the challenge. That match against Iran’s Esteghlal Tehran is something of the past. We are now fully focused on our new challenges, i.e. playing against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal FC which is a new mission against a team which plays differently from the Iranian team.”
