In the pre-match press conference of dedicated for Al Wasl and Al Ain of last-16 stage of the President’s Cup, Zoran Mamic was so firm in his response to a question on whether he is expecting the match will be ended by penalty kicks “We do not think about penalty kicks! This is a new match and another competition which is completely different from the league. We are the champs of the previous version of the cup and sights are set to repeat the same.” He underlined that the team’s mission will not be easy, given the fact the opponent is a good team.

He added: “I expect it will be a clash match that requires us to redouble our efforts and do our best. I have full confidence in my players that they will perform well and push themselves to the limit to move forward to the next stage in this competition.”

On his plans to avoid the scenario of the final match of the last version where Al Ain also played against Al Wasl and missed a punch of easy chances in the first half turning their mission to a hard one in the second half, he said: “That final match is something of the past and even the recent match of the league is the same. This coming match is a new challenge and we are determined to win the opponent.”

He signed off: “The best way to win the match is show the team’s genuine fighting spirit, high concentration, to run and be fast, and definitely we will qualify to the quarterfinal match.”
