Zoran Mamic, Head Coach of Al Ain First Football Team, stressed that the “Boss” is on the verge to have a clash confrontation against Shabab Al Ahli Dubai in the quarterfinals of the President’s Cup and “We are aware of what we are meant to do this Wednesday despite the break time between our last match against Al Nasr and this coming match was not enough, but this is part of our job.” He underlined: “We are determined to be all set for the coming match and keep all the squad tuned during training sessions of today and tomorrow with the aim in mind to fulfill all our ambitions, that are to break records by a historical achievement. Indeed, our next close step is to qualify to the final match of the President’s Cup with all due respect to our competitor.”

Commenting on a question on his own plans to achieve his gigantic ambitions by clinching the three titles, specially he is done with the first target, the Arabian Gulf League title, he said: “It is the fate of big teams to compete to win all titles and our sights are set on winning the title of the President’s Cup which is our top priority at the moment in accordance with the Club’s strategy of handling priorities.” He expressed his satisfaction with the conditions of the team by saying “The “Boss” squad is experiencing it best conditions where we do not any absences, no injured players and no suspensions. We will play next match with our full power and I have full confidence in my players’ potentials to amplify their level of performance. Definitely, as soon as we are done with the President’s Cup, we will be ready for the AFC Champions League.”

“I certainly will not think that much about Shabab Al Ahli Dubai as much as I am directing all my attention to prepare my team in the right manner to achieve the grea and honorable performance and results with my respect to the opponent. This is because Al Ain is capable of realizing all their own aspirations and make their loyal fans happy,” said he in response to a question the impact of rivalry and competition between the two teams on the level of performance during Wednesday’s match.

As for his satisfaction with the fans’ attendance in support of Al Ain compared the positive and great results achieved by the team and heightened performance, he emphasized: “Undoubtedly, Al Ain has enjoyed a fabulous support by their loyal and stunning fans. Ainawi Nation deserve sincerest thanks and appreciation which a very important issue for me. Also, I trust that they work hard to embody the spirit of the one family as for their relationships with the Club’s Management and players through their own creative initiatives. However, having more fans in the standings will be better for sure.”

Zoran concluded the press conference by highlighting a point of order with regard to the AGL schedule and other competitions as well, he stated: “In the European leagues, we have a fixed calendar for the whole season and the fans deal with this as a tradition dated back to many years of and they have these dates spotted on their own schedules. Actually, if we are aiming to increase the rate of fans’ attendance of matches, I believe that the UAE Football Association is required to develop a long-term plan taking into account the best possible dates to hold matches and avoid the recurrent changes and adjustments to match schedules taking place in each season.”
